Google Shopping, Meta, and Klaviyo — built by operators who will tell you when PMax is cannibalizing branded, when your feed has 40% disapprovals, and when Meta is the wrong spend this quarter.

Rocky Brands portfolio stats — +56% Q4 revenue, 13× ROAS, 20% CPA reduction, 40% disapproved feed recovered

You already know Meta isn't what it was. Your agency won't say it.

Here’s the version of the story we hear every quarter:

Your Meta ROAS is drifting down for reasons no one can fully explain. Your PMax is eating branded Search and reporting 8x ROAS that your MER doesn’t back up. 30–40% of your catalog is disapproved in Merchant Center and your agency is still “optimizing bids” on the 60% that isn’t. Your in-house marketer is shipping 4 creatives a week when you need 20. And the monthly reporting call is 45 minutes of dashboard-tour and zero decisions.

You can feel it: the problem isn’t Meta. The problem isn’t Google. The problem is the agency isn’t operating the account — they’re reporting on it.

We built Zealous Growth’s ecom practice to be the opposite of that. See the marketing tips offer →

Start to finish — through platform migration

What we did: rebuilt all five Google Ads accounts, segmented Shopping away from PMax cannibalization, built a custom feed pipeline that recovered disapproved SKUs, and re-structured budget by performance instead of fixed allocation. Ahead of Black Friday/Cyber Monday. During a mid-year platform migration. What we didn’t do: lock them into a 12-month contract, mark up ad spend, or hide PMax performance inside a blended number.

Four things we do that the "full-service DTC" agencies don't.

1

We treat the feed like an engineering problem, not a checkbox.

Most agencies run Google Ads and assume the Merchant Center is fine. On Muck Boot Company, ~40% of the catalog was disapproved because of malformed Salesforce data nobody had touched. We built a custom feed pipeline to recover it. Shopping ROAS climbed to 7x+ on the recovered catalog. That’s not a service line — that’s the job.

2

We call out PMax cannibalization on the first call.

We’ll show you the branded-vs-non-branded split, the Search + PMax overlap, and the incrementality test we’d run in the first 30 days. If 70% of your reported ROAS is branded, you’ll know before the contract is signed.

3

No markup on ad spend. You own everything.

Your ad spend goes directly to Google and Meta, billed to your card, on your account. You own everything — accounts, audiences, pixel data, feed, Klaviyo list. We charge a flat retainer. Exit at 90 days with zero hostage-taking.

4

We ship creative volume, not decks.

We don’t produce 40-page strategy docs. We ship 20–40 fresh Meta/TikTok assets per month on Pro, built from your existing UGC, your product photography, and your reviews. If Meta is underperforming, we reallocate the budget — we don’t spend it to hit a reporting goal.

+56% Q4 revenue during a platform migration: how we rebuilt Rocky Brands' Google Ads.

Rocky Brands runs five footwear brands: Muck Boot Company, Xtratuf, Rocky, Georgia Boot, and Durango. When we came in, each had an inherited Google Ads account with its own account manager, its own bid strategy, and its own problems. They were also six months into migrating from Salesforce Commerce Cloud to Shopify — with Q4 (their biggest revenue window of the year) looming. We had six months.

Beat 1 — Account audits + portfolio-wide restructure (Weeks 1–4).

Full audits of all five accounts. Rebuilt campaign architecture across the portfolio so branded/non-branded were separated, PMax wasn’t eating Search, and Shopping had its own segmented strategy instead of being absorbed into PMax by default.

Beat 2 — Feed rebuild for the Shopify migration (Weeks 2–12).

The platform migration meant the product feed had to be rebuilt from scratch — titles, GTINs, attributes, availability signals, and Merchant Center compliance for every SKU across five brands. Conversion tracking rebuilt on the new Shopify stack before BFCM.

Beat 3 — Budget flipped from fixed to performance-based (Weeks 8–20).

The old model was fixed monthly allocations per brand. We moved to performance-based reallocation — scaling aggressively on brands/campaigns with room to grow, pulling back on the ones that had hit saturation. This let us lean into Black Friday/Cyber Monday without pre-committing Q4 budget in July.

Beat 4 — Q4 execution (Weeks 20–26).

BFCM windows executed with scaled budgets on winners, suppressed budgets on tapped-out segments, and a pre-built creative/promo calendar that shipped daily instead of weekly.

Why we're built different

Most marketing tools make you the operator. You pay for software, then hire someone to run it, then hope it all works together.

We’re the operators. You keep running your business. We handle the website, the Google listing, the reviews, the content, the follow-up, the reporting. You just send us photos of the work you’re already doing.

And because we’ve done this specifically for local service businesses, we know exactly what generates calls, what’s a distraction, and what wastes a budget.

Real questions. Straight answers.

We already have an in-house marketing person. Why do we need you?

Most of our ecom clients have one. Zealous Growth doesn’t replace your in-house marketer — we give them the infrastructure a single hire can’t produce: a senior Google media buyer, a feed engineer, a Meta creative pipeline, and a Klaviyo operator. Your in-house person owns strategy and brand voice. We execute the channels. Your first call post-signup is usually a working session with them, not a replacement conversation.

Meta has been broken for us for months. Why would you be different?

We don’t think Meta is broken — we think it’s expensive and less forgiving than it was. The difference is what we do about it: MER reporting instead of in-platform ROAS, incrementality testing at the audience level, creative volume as the primary lever (not bid tweaks), and a willingness to reallocate away from Meta if Google or Klaviyo is cheaper incrementally that quarter. Your agency’s retainer shouldn’t assume Meta gets 60% of spend forever.

How do you handle PMax? We don't trust the black box.

Correctly. On the first call, we’ll show you the branded-vs-non-branded split in your account, where PMax is overlapping Search, and the specific segmentation we’d put in place — excluding brand terms from PMax, forcing Shopping separation, and running a 30-day incrementality test on PMax spend. If 70% of your reported PMax ROAS is branded terms you’d win for free, you’ll know before you sign.

We run on Shopify Plus / custom Shopify / headless. Can you handle that?

Yes. Rocky Brands ran through a full Salesforce-to-Shopify migration with us — five brands, rebuilt feeds, rebuilt conversion tracking. We also run Woo (Mike’s Country Meats, Nutman) and have built custom feed pipelines for clients whose ERP/PIM doesn’t play nice with Merchant Center. Headless Shopify is fine. BigCommerce is fine. Magento we’d scope carefully.

What's the contract? How do I get out if it's not working?

3-month minimum. After 90 days, month-to-month. 30 days’ notice to cancel. No exit fees. You own everything: ad accounts, Merchant Center, Klaviyo list, Shopify apps, pixel events, feed — all on your side. If you leave, you leave with the whole stack.

What does it cost?

eCommerce is scoped as a single program: $10,000 one-time onboarding + $1,999/mo with a 3-month minimum, then month-to-month. That covers WooCommerce/Shopify hosting + ongoing support, annual website design review, basic CRM setup + Klaviyo integration, Google Shopping + Merchant Center management, Meta + paid channel management, and 20–40 creative assets per month. Ad spend is separate, on your card, no markup. Our local-service plans (Growth and Full Department) don’t apply here — feed engineering, creative volume, and platform ops need the dedicated eCommerce program to work.

What if our business is too small / too big for you?

Honest answer: we’re the best fit at $500K–$50M annual revenue. Below $500K, paid media often isn’t the constraint — retention, product-market fit, and email usually are. We’ll tell you that in the marketing tips. Above $50M and you likely need an agency with a 6-person pod per account — that’s not us. In between, we’re the right size.
