Real Questions, Straight Answers.
My custom-build sales cycle is 12-18 months. Does any of this even matter for me?
Yes — more than for any other trade. Long sales cycles mean buyers spend 200+ days researching before they ever call you. If you’re not showing up during their dreaming and planning phase, you’ve already lost to the builder who was. We build content and portfolio architecture that gets you found early — and a CRM that re-engages them at 90, 180, and 365 days when they’re actually ready to sign. If anything, long sales cycles make this more important, not less.
I get plenty of referrals already. Why would I pay for this?
Because referrals cap you at whoever your current clients happen to know — and they come in batches, not in a predictable pipeline. Most of our contractor clients come to us with steady referrals and leave a year later with referrals plus a predictable pipeline underneath them. You don’t replace the referrals; you add a layer below them so you can plan the next crew, the next truck, the next year.
Your leads are going to be homeowners price-shopping three contractors. Hard pass.
We hear this a lot. That’s why we don’t sell “shared leads” or “lead packs” — we build a system where the lead lands on your site, calls your number, and gets routed to your CRM. No lead sharing. When the audit surfaces a real gap and we get on a call, we’ll ask about your typical project size up front so we can tell whether a fit is even worth your crew’s time. Qualification is baked in.
I build $500K+ custom homes. My buyers aren't clicking Google ads.
Some aren’t. Many are — but they’re clicking the research-phase ads 12+ months out, not the “call now” ads. The custom-home buyer journey on our side looks like: (a) they read “cost to build a custom home in [city]” on your blog in month 1, (b) they see your retargeting in month 3-6 while they’re walking lots with their realtor, (c) they inquire in month 8-12. If you’re on the higher-ticket end ($1M+ custom builds), we’ll also lean harder into SEO, content, portfolio, and architect/designer partnerships, and lighter on cold paid. That’s calibrated on the 20-minute call, not assumed.
My portfolio is my #1 sales asset. Are you just going to bolt a gallery on my site?
No. Portfolio pages are where most agencies fail GCs. We build project pages that are individually indexed (each remodel / build gets its own URL, style/location metadata, process notes, before/after), so a homeowner searching “Dublin Ohio kitchen remodel” lands on your actual project, not a template. We can’t replace your photos (you’ll send us the best ones, or we’ll arrange jobsite shoots), but the architecture around them is what makes them show up in search.
What's your project-size minimum — are you going to even take me on?
We work with GCs running $500K-$10M annually. If you’re mainly doing $20K handyman jobs, we’re not your fit. If your average project is $50K+ and your annual revenue is $500K+, we’re built for you. We’ll also tell you during the call if your market is saturated in a way that’d burn your ad budget — sometimes “don’t run ads yet, fix the website first” is the honest answer. Most agencies won’t say that.
Ohio winters — do my ads work in January?
In Ohio, GC work is less brutal than concrete or landscaping, but the December-February dip is real for ad intent. We throttle paid spend down in the slowest weeks and redirect retainer hours into content, GBP work, review generation, and pre-spring pipeline building. Your retainer covers the team; your ad spend flexes with the season. That’s why the reports are 1 page — we have nothing to hide.
What does this cost?
Two plans. Growth $2,000/mo — website with hosting and ongoing CRO, Local SEO + citations, Google Business Profile management, web SEO with monthly publishing, and review generation. Full Department $3,500/mo — everything in Growth plus lead capture automation (speed-to-lead, SMS and email nurture, booking), email marketing, social media management and moderation, and photo and video editing. 3-month minimum then month-to-month. Paid ads management is an add-on scoped to your spend — ad dollars go directly to Google, no markup. Additional sub brands are $750/mo each. Most GCs we work with run on Full Department.
What if your ads don't work?
If 90 days in we haven’t moved qualified-lead volume or pipeline velocity, we fix it or we part ways. We don’t hold you hostage. We’d rather lose a GC than be the agency builders warn each other about at the next NAHB meeting.
