Websites, Google Ads, LSAs, and Map Pack marketing built for roofing contractors — with no 12-month contract, no shared leads, and a team of two senior partners (not a rotating PM stack).

“Zealous Growth rebuilt our whole system and beat PE-backed HVAC competitors in our zip code. 41% revenue growth in 12 months.”
— Matt Near, Owner, Wind Bender HVAC (Dayton, OH)
Wind Bender HVAC technician — independent Ohio HVAC contractor at a residential job site
Same system we built for Ohio HVAC: +41% revenue against PE buyouts. Roofers are next.

You've Been Pitched Storm-Chasers, Sold Shared Leads, and Outspent by PE. Let's Fix That.

Here’s what usually happens to a legitimate local roofing contractor. An agency calls, promises you 50 hail-damage leads a month, and charges $3,000/mo on a 12-month lock-in. Half the leads are ghosts — disconnected numbers, homeowners who never filled out the form, recycled data the FTC fined HomeAdvisor for in 2023. The other half were sold to 4 other roofers on Angi at the same time, and now the homeowner is racing five contractors to the lowest price on a roof replacement.

Meanwhile a PE-backed roofing platform from two states over ran your zip code last April after that hailstorm, undercut every local roofer by 20%, disappeared before warranty claims started coming in, and left homeowners in your market allergic to every roofing pitch — including yours. By mid-2025, private equity firms were acquiring a U.S. roofing platform every 48 hours. The shop two towns over that looks independent may already be sister brand #14 of an Aligned Exteriors or Tecta America rollup with a shared $100K/month ad budget.

Your Google Business Profile is sitting at #7 in the Map Pack. You’ve been “working on Google Guaranteed” for four months and the paperwork keeps stalling. Your last marketing agency sent you a 30-page PDF full of “impressions” and “clicks” and no answer to the only question that matters: how many retail roofs and insurance-claim roofs did we actually sign this month?

The reviews on your GBP have gone quiet. Your review velocity — the #1 ranking factor in the local Map Pack according to every Map Pack study — has no automation behind it. You’re asking customers for reviews on notepads. Meanwhile the storm-chaser out of Dallas has 180 reviews posted in the last 90 days, and Google is rewarding him with the top slot above your 4.9-star profile with 18 reviews posted over 6 years.

Wind Bender HVAC — Dayton, OH. Matt Near bought the business in 2023. No website, no Map Pack presence, losing against PE-backed HVAC rollups. Twelve months with us: +41% revenue, 7x ROAS, #1 in the Map Pack. Against competitors with 5-10x his ad budget. The same playbook ports directly to roofing — Map Pack dominance, LSA badge application, review velocity automation, retail-funnel Google Ads, CRM speed-to-lead. The buyer behavior is nearly identical.

Five Things We Do That the Big Roofing-Agency Names Don't

1

You work with Marcus and Cole, not a rotating PM stack.

We’re a 2-principal partnership. Marcus builds — websites, tracking, CRM, integrations. Cole runs the marketing — ads, SEO, Map Pack, review velocity. You talk to us. There’s nobody to escalate to, nobody to blame, and nobody silently staffing your account out to a junior. Hook Agency has 30 people. Contractor Marketing Pros has 400 clients. We’ll have 25 — and you’ll know both our names.

2

3-month minimum. Not 12.

Month 1 is build. Months 2-3 is traction. If we haven’t moved the needle by month 4, you leave — no exit fees, no “we own the domain” nonsense. Everything we built is yours on the way out: website, Google Business Profile, CRM data, ad history, LSA badge.

3

Phone calls, signed roofs, and LSA conversions tracked. Not impressions.

Call tracking on every number, form tracking on every submit, GBP message tracking, LSA lead tracking, and CRM-stage tracking — all tied back to source. Your monthly report is 1 page. It says how many retail roofs, how many insurance-claim roofs, and how much it cost to get each. You’ll actually read it.

4

Review velocity, LSA application, and Map Pack push as one system.

Most agencies will do Google Ads or SEO or reviews. We do all three as one engine because for roofing they compound — LSAs feed reviews, reviews feed the Map Pack, the Map Pack feeds organic, organic feeds retargeting. Silo’ed agencies lose the compound. Our Growth plan includes review-velocity setup from day one.

5

No storm-chaser tactics. We'll tell you no if your market is saturated with them.

Our clients are retail-forward or retail/insurance-mixed. If you’re a pure storm-chase shop chasing hail across state lines, we’re the wrong partner — and we’ll say so in the first 20 minutes instead of taking your money. Our playbook is built for roofers who plan to still be in business in five years.

How We Beat PE-Backed Competitors for an Ohio HVAC Contractor — And Why Roofing Is the Same Fight

We don’t have a roofing case study yet. But Wind Bender HVAC is the closest match we’ve shipped — and for a roofing audience, it’s the most relevant playbook we run. When Matt Near bought Wind Bender HVAC in Dayton in 2023, he had a crew, a service truck, and no marketing. No website. Google Business Profile half-filled. The Map Pack was dominated by three PE-backed HVAC rollups and a national chain. That is exactly the position most independent roofing contractors are in right now against the wave of PE consolidation hitting roofing in 2025 — with one additional twist: roofing also has storm-chasers cycling through after every hail event. Here’s what we built in 12 months, and how each piece maps to a roofing shop.

Beat 1 — Website + Brand (Weeks 1-4)

New site built around Wind Bender’s geothermal specialty + residential HVAC. Mobile-first. Click-to-call on every page. Integrated Calendly for estimate booking. For roofing, this maps directly to: retail vs insurance service pages, financing callout, a process explainer that covers the insurance-claim journey, portfolio gallery, click-to-call + instant-text CTAs on every page.

Beat 2 — Local SEO + GBP + Review Velocity (Weeks 3-8)

Rebuilt GBP end-to-end. Targeted “HVAC [city]” + 40 local variants across the Dayton service area. Automated post-job review asks via SMS. For roofing, add Google Guaranteed / LSA application on top, because that’s where the real CPL advantage is, plus service-area pages per suburb for “roof replacement [suburb]” and “hail damage roof [suburb]” queries.

Beat 3 — Google Ads + Map Pack Push (Weeks 5-40)

Seasonal HVAC campaign (heat waves → AC, cold snaps → furnace), negative keyword list pruned weekly, Map Pack ranking worked via citations + reviews + GBP posts. For roofing, the campaign split runs retail / insurance-claim / commercial re-roof with separate ad groups, separate landing copy, and separate CPL expectations. Insurance-claim campaigns don’t use “free estimate today” messaging — that burns in the wrong funnel.

Beat 4 — CRM + Instant Follow-Up (Weeks 6-40)

Every inbound lead gets an SMS within 2 minutes. Missed-call text-back. No-show follow-ups. Old-estimate re-engagement at 6 months. Built on GoHighLevel. For roofing, we add a separate insurance-claim pipeline — adjuster appointment, inspection, approval, scheduling — because a retail roof pipeline with week-over-week metrics will declare your insurance campaign dead before the adjuster has even inspected.

Why we're built different

Most marketing tools make you the operator. You pay for software, then hire someone to run it, then hope it all works together.

We’re the operators. You keep running your business. We handle the website, the Google listing, the reviews, the content, the follow-up, the reporting. You just send us photos of the work you’re already doing.

And because we’ve done this specifically for local service businesses, we know exactly what generates calls, what’s a distraction, and what wastes a budget.

Real Questions, Straight Answers

Do you have a roofing case study? I don't want to be the guinea pig.

Not yet — that’s the honest answer. Our 12 published case studies are across HVAC, concrete, general contracting, eCommerce, and hospitality. Wind Bender HVAC and CBUS Concrete are the closest trade matches, and the playbook (Map Pack dominance, LSA badge, review velocity, retail vs insurance funnel split, CRM speed-to-lead) ports directly. If you sign with us, you’ll be the first roofing case study in the portfolio — and that means you get disproportionate attention, better pricing lock-in, and the right to veto anything we publish about your business. If “first roofing client” reads as risk to you, we’re probably not the right fit. If it reads as leverage, keep reading.

I've been burned by HomeAdvisor and Angi. Are you going to sell me shared leads?

No. We don’t resell third-party leads. Every lead we generate is exclusive to you — from your Google Ads, your LSA badge, your Map Pack position, your organic SEO, your retargeting. If you’re currently spending on Angi or HomeAdvisor, part of our 90-day plan is moving that budget into channels you actually own. Shared leads convert at 6-10%; exclusive organic + LSA leads convert at 18-24% in roofing.

What about the storm-chasers killing my market?

We can’t get them out of your zip code. What we can do is out-rank them in the Map Pack (they usually have thin local review profiles), beat them on LSA trust signals (Google Guaranteed badge, quick-response time, high review volume), and build retargeting that reaches homeowners who interacted with a storm-chaser ad and bailed. The audit includes a storm-chaser exposure section specifically because it’s the #1 pain we hear from retail-forward roofers.

Can you get me the Google Guaranteed / LSA badge?

We can get you through the application cleanly — background checks for every tech, license + insurance verification, category setup, and initial profile optimization. Google is the one who approves, not us. Timeline is typically 2-5 weeks once your paperwork is ready. If something is structurally blocking you (lapsed license, insurance gap, a category issue), we’ll surface that in the audit before you sign with us — not after.

I do mostly insurance-claim work. Is this the wrong agency?

No — but the plan shifts. Insurance roofing has a 30-60 day sales cycle, an adjuster-coordination stage, and different ad messaging (we don’t run “get a free estimate today” copy on an insurance funnel). Our CRM setup includes a separate insurance pipeline with adjuster-appointment, inspection, approval, and scheduling stages. The Report will flag whether your current setup is built for the insurance funnel or misaligned.

What if my phone already rings from word-of-mouth and storm callbacks?

Good — that means you have a reputation worth amplifying. Word-of-mouth alone caps your growth at whoever your current customers happen to know. What we do is put you in front of homeowners searching right now who haven’t heard of you yet — retail buyers researching a planned replacement, insurance buyers comparing local contractors, commercial property managers looking for re-roof bids. Most of our clients arrive with referrals and leave with referrals plus a predictable pipeline underneath.

What's the contract? How do I get out?

3-month minimum (Month 1 = build, Months 2-3 = traction). After 90 days, month-to-month. 30 days’ notice to cancel. No exit fees. No “we own the domain” nonsense. If you leave, you leave with your website, your GBP, your CRM data, your ad history, and your LSA badge.

What does this cost?

Two plans. Growth $2,000/mo — website with hosting and ongoing CRO, Local SEO + citations, Google Business Profile management, web SEO with monthly publishing, and review velocity with instant SMS review requests. Full Department $3,500/mo — everything in Growth plus lead capture automation (speed-to-lead, SMS and email nurture, booking), email marketing, social media management and moderation, and photo and video editing. Paid ads management (Google Ads, LSAs, Meta retargeting) is an add-on scoped to your spend — ad dollars go direct to Google, Meta, or LSA, zero markup. Recommended ad floor is $2,500+/mo for statistical signal. Additional sub brands are $750/mo each.

How big a team am I really getting?

Marcus (developer, CRM, tracking, integrations) plus Cole (ads, SEO, Map Pack, review velocity). That’s it. You’ll know both our names, have both our phone numbers, and never deal with an AE handoff to a junior executor. When the big roofing agencies say “senior team” they usually mean one senior strategist running the sales call and a pool of juniors doing the work. We don’t play that game because we can’t — the whole agency is two people.

What if your ads don't work?

If 90 days in we haven’t generated you qualified leads — we fix it or we part ways. We don’t hold anyone hostage. We’d rather lose a client in month 3 than be the agency independent roofers warn each other about on Facebook and at RoofCon.

One Report. 48 Hours. Zero Sales Pressure.

See where your roofing business actually stands in the Map Pack, on LSAs, and against the storm-chasers and PE shops competing for your zip code — and what it would take to dominate it.
